I fell in love with a girl
I remember the first time I fell in love. I was a young child, and it was at school.
It was during spring. She was my friend. We played a lot together. We hung out together. We did many things together. I didn't really know the concept of love back then—all I knew was that this girl was sweet, kind and funny. I liked her a lot. I wanted to always spend time with her.
Being apart from this girl hurt me, even though I was eleven. A dumb eleven year old who couldn’t grasp her own feelings properly. I was too clingy, and she must’ve humored me in every way. She tried to stay.
We drifted eventually though. Her parents didn’t like how close I was with her. Mine wouldn’t like her either, if they had known. Everybody seemed to suspect that I was queer, even before I knew.
She moved away a decade ago. I'm almost twenty-two years old now. I miss her still.
Sweet Pepper,
I'll never forget you.
Love, your friend
